Fossil Q Control Is The Latest Android Wear Smartwatch
The latest Android Wear smartwatch has gone live – and it’s yet another entry from the Fossil stable. The Fossil Q Control is the watchmaker’s first stab at a sporty smartwatch, with both GPS and heart rate monitoring on board.
The Q Control features a 45mm circular case and measures in at 14mm thick. The straps are interchangeable 20mm silicone sport ones, with a two-tone accent – so Fossil definitely has the gym in mind for this tech-timepiece.
Up top when mentioned GPS – it’s ‘Connected-GPS’, not built in – so that means piggybacking off of your smartphone’s satellite signal… not ideal, but it’s a setup that’s used by many Android Wear smartwatches (including the Misfit Vapor).
The Fossil Q Control is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 CPU, with the usual Android Wear 4GB of onboard storage alongside it. I’m informed that the battery life will be around 24 hours.
Fossil’s latest smartwatch will set you back $275 (9,090 THB approx), which does make it affordable. It’s available now online from Fossil and will land in stores later this week.
The Fossil Group is by far the most prolific Android Wear brand. It already has a handful of Fossil branded smartwatches on sale – the likes of the Q Founder, Marshal and Wander, and then there are devices falling under many of its umbrella brands such as the Michael Kors Access range, the Diesel On Full Guard and the Emporio Armani Connected. Add to that the huge array of hybrid watches from the group and you can see that Fossil is clearly embracing the wearable technology revolution.
